I am a bit confuse.At 10.25 you draw a line using ( x1,y1) in a direction which seems to follow the actual curve.Why does at ( x1,y1) the tangent line is not drawn say as a negative slope, or perhaps not as steep as what you drawn?Not sure how to express this without drawing.

why is y = y?
because one of the variables needs to be equal to t. so in his case its y. it could have been x or z that we could have equated to itself (x=x) or (z=z)….. I think this is how you approach the parametric equation.
@10:26, n should equal zero below the sigma. The way you have it gives a result of 1.71...
